Blood Drive Service Project
Holmes Convocation Center - 8 a.m.
Kick off your Homecoming experience by giving back. Participate in the A.C.T. supported blood drive at the Holmes Convocation Center between 8 a.m. and 7 p.m. Last year's drive was a huge success and we hope to make 2008 even better!

Spirit Under the Lights Pep Rally & Lip Sync Finals
Holmes Convocation Center - 6 p.m.
Don't miss this ever-popular kickoff to Homecoming with highlights including: the student organization lip sync contest, pep rally, marching band, and cheerleaders.
The 2nd Annual Running of the Knob
Watauga County Downtown Library - 6 p.m.
Plan on participating in this annual race, starting at the Watauga County Downtown Library and finishing 2 miles up at Howard’s Knob Park. Participants may run, walk or crawl their way along the route. Mountaineer Walk
Welcome the three-time Defending National Champion Mountaineer Football Team as they make their traditional walk to Kidd Brewer Stadium. Bring out your black and gold spirit!
Family Fun Zone
Duncan Plaza 11:30 a.m.- 2:30 p.m.
The Family Fun Zone is an alcohol free tailgate area located at the new Duncan Plaza (behind Duncan Hall) in the heart of Appalachian’s campus. Mountaineer families are encouraged to visit the family fun zone on the site of the first ever football field on Appalachian's campus. This area features fun activities for mountaineers "in training" and offers a wide open space for families to enjoy the gameday experience.
The Ultimate Tailgate Party
Duck Pond Field - 11 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.
Alumni and friends will meet at Duck Pond Field for a colorful tailgate party everyone is sure to enjoy.

Appalachian vs. The Citadel Football Game
Kidd Brewer Stadium 3:00 p.m.
Come set a new attendance record and cheer on the Back to Back to Back National Champion Mountaineers as they take on SoCon foe, The Citadel. Ticket information coming soon.
Rock the Party Post-Game Bash
Helen Powers Grand Hall - Broyhill Inn - 8:30 p.m.
Dress to the nines for this classy affair as The Craig Woolard Band light up the night with their music. Heavy hors d’oeuvres will be served. Beer, wine and mixers to be purchased on site; BYO liquor. $18 per person before October 4, 2007; $20 after the deadline (prices subject to change).

Farthing Auditorium - 9 p.m.
