Appalachian Alumni Council
Representing more than 95,000 appalachian alumni
The Appalachian Alumni Council is an elected group of more than 30 alumni who serve as an advisory council for the Appalachian Alumni Association and support its mission to:
- promote and encourage fellowship and friendship among its members
- foster good will on the part of its members and others toward Appalachian, and
- aid and assist Appalachian State University through carrying out such projects and undertakings as the Association shall adopt

Alumni Council Goals
1. Select and present Outstanding Service Awards, Young Alumnus Awards, Distinguished Alumnus Awards, and Honorary Alumnus Awards.
2. Serve as alumni hosts for the Alumni Awards Banquet.
3. Select and present Alumni Memorial Scholarships.
4. Promote career service opportunities to alumni.
5. Recruit Career Information Network volunteers.
6. Educate alumni about the importance of giving to the University.
7. Serve as alumni hosts for Admissions receptions.
8. Serve as hosts for Homecoming and other events.
10. Support the Alumni Memorial Scholarship fund.
